No NBA team has ever finished 82-0. The challenge: build a five so perfect that it never loses.

The rules

Five spins, each landing on a random franchise + era. Draft one real player per spin into your starting five — PG, SG, SF, PF, C, no duplicates, one team re-roll and one era re-roll allowed. When the five is set, the season runs all 82 games deterministically. Finish 82-0 and you join the Invincibles.

Why it’s so hard

The record is graded on four categories at once — scoring, rebounding, playmaking, defense — against all-time elite benchmarks. One weak link caps your ceiling: a five of pure scorers bleeds rebounds; a defense-first five can't put the ball in the basket. Fewer than 1 in 250 expertly drafted teams go 82-0.
